Time: 7.00pm – 9.00pm

An enlightening evening with local author, Natalie Kayley, 7.00-9.00pm on Thursday 27th January

Description

We are very excited to host local author Natalie Kayley to discuss her debut novel, Where The Planes Flew Over. All of the stories are based in Hampshire: Southampton, Winchester, Itchen Abbas and a village called Longwood.

After recording a series of memories on a cheap, old dictaphone of her grandparents, great auntie and a neighbour, Natalie then spent the last few years writing the first book out of what will be a 3-book series. This first book focuses on the first two years of the war.

As only two of the five people are still alive now, it really does mean the world to get their stories heard.

”Five Children in the heart of Hampshire have their own stories to tell about growing up in a world of war: from nights of terror in the Southampton Blitz, to housing evacuees, to their own family trials and tribulations – But most of all, on how the Second World War transformed them into the people they’ve become and how it taught them to open their hearts a little bit more…”

Natalie and the team at P&G Wells look forward to welcoming you to this free talk, followed by a Q&A and book signing.

The world of Zara’s 15-day drug-induced coma, which she describes as ‘being trapped in a nightmare state that you can’t wake up from’ is rendered as a full-colour fantasy, with mythological creatures appearing out of nowhere as she battles to protect her three children against the forces of evil that threaten to engulf her. Meanwhile, her husband Dan tries to keep family life going as he faces the most difficult task of all: preparing the children for the likely loss of their mother.
