The Ladies Investigate

Thursday 2nd May 6.30pm at P&G Wells Bookshop

Join us for an evening of sleuthing with the authors of Miss Austen Investigates and The List of Suspicious Things

Jessica Bull and Jennie Godfrey will be in discussion with Natasha Poliszczuk about their debut cosy crime novels.

Jessica Bull will talk us through her journey from librarian to author. Her novel Miss Austen Investigates is set in Hampshire and sweeps readers away to Regency England where manners are more important than murder. Jessica will share her research and writing process.

The List of Suspicious Things tells an insightful tale set in a Yorkshire community during the Ripper-era, where two young girls attempt to uncover the mystery behind disappearing women. Drawing inspiration from her own experiences growing up in West Yorkshire, Jennie Godfrey’s story is driven by poignant memories and a desire to recount the lives of the mill-working generation that preceded hers.

Both authors will answer questions from the audience.

Thursday 2 May 6:30pm for 7:00pm at P&G Wells Bookshop

Tickets are £10.00 and include a glass of wine. Tickets can be purchased below

Welcome to Hampshire, 1795, where a young Jane Austen has her sights set on securing a marriage proposal from the dashing Tom Lefroy at a local ball. But when a shocking discovery is made – a milliner’s lifeless body tucked away in a linen closet – Jane finds herself embroiled in an unexpected murder mystery. As she races against the clock to clear her beloved brother Georgy’s name, Jane uses her sharp wits to navigate the treacherous waters of society, unmasking secrets and unearthing hidden motives along the way.
