Local writer Miriam Coley will be leading poetry workshops for children and young people at P&G Wells on Sunday 30 June. Come along to play with words and get creative! Miriam will be encouraging participants to enter the Hampshire Young Poets Competition, which closes on 31 July; anyone who finishes their poem on the day can enter it straight away at P&G Wells’ Poetry Postbox. Miriam Coley is a local writer who has led children’s writing workshops at P&G Wells for many years until Covid sadly put an end to these. We are delighted to welcome her back.

Miriam likes to write in many different genres. Currently she is developing a theatre piece with Bearface theatre at The Point, Eastleigh. Her poem, Layercake City was exhibited at Southampton’s Tiniest  Art Gallery earlier this year. Find out more at https://miriamcoley.com/

Nature is a theme that Miriam constantly returns to in her writing and she’s excited to explore this with the young poets in their workshops. These will be fun, interactive and celebratory.
